the fizz kid - bath bombs, shower fizzies, and more!

The Fizz Kid ( also known as my 6-year old daughter, Peyton) started her business in December of 2018, because she loves baths, and decided she wanted to help “everyone else love baths”. She also wanted to create some fun in the tub for another in the sense of having a “surprise” in her bath bombs.
In the interest of encouraging her and wanting her to explore this venture, we have turned it into a teaching opportunity for a multitude of topics, including planning and managing, packaging, budgeting, advertising, sales, customer service, and creation. Peyton helps with all aspects of the business and has helped with the creation and packaging of each and every bomb.
Her bath bombs are made with baking soda, corn starch, Epson salts, citric acid, essential oils, witch hazel, coconut oil, and mica colour pigments. They are all-natural ingredients, and everything that can be purchased locally, is.
Peyton likes to experiment with colours and scents, so you will notice she has new products all the time, and the bomb you receive may not look exactly like the image, as each one is made by hand.
If you are looking for something specific, she can create a custom variation, whether it is colour or scent. Please send us an email with the details in the web form below.
Frequently Asked Questions – FAQs
What exactly IS a bath bomb?
Bath bombs can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but most commonly are spherical that fizzle and dissolve rapidly when tossed into water. Not only do they add a bit of fun to your bath, but Peyton’s are made with variety of all-natural ingredients, designed to detox and soothe, as well as help you relax. WHAT MATERIALS ARE IN YOUR BATH BOMBS?
Peyton’s bath bombs are made with baking soda, corn starch, Epson salts, citric acid, essential oils, witch hazel, coconut oil, and mica colour pigments. They are all-natural ingredients, and everything that can be purchased locally, is.
Are bath bombs safe for kids?
Our regular bath bombs are safe to use for children ages 2 and up, and the bombs with “surprises” in them are better suited for 4 and over, due to the small surprise enclosed in the bomb.
ARE BATH BOMBS GLUTEN FREE?
Yes, all of our bath bombs are gluten free!
DO YOUR Bath BOMBS STAIN THE BATH TUB?
The main ingredients themselves do not leave a residue, and are commonly used in cleaning. To make them more visually appealing and fun in the bath, Peyton has added colours and scents (essential oils), which hydrate the skin wonderfully but can also cause the pigments and essential oil colours to cling to the tub wall. Colours may build up more with each use so it is best to wipe residue away each time to make cleaning easy. Rubbing alcohol is a very quick way of removing any oil residue. Regular cleaning products and a bit of scrubbing may be required if not cleaned after draining the water.
How do the bombs fizz?
The reaction between baking soda and citric acid creates the fizzing action. When the bath bomb touches water, the baking soda reacts with the citric acid to release carbon dioxide gas. The bath bomb starts to break apart as this happens, releasing with it the colour, essential oils, cocnut oil, and witch hazel, resulting in a silky soft bath.
